  2. The book i chose to read is called "Off the Deep End" by Lucinda Berry. I chose this book because i had seen a tiktok about it being a true story and seemed like it would be an attention getter through the whole story. My initial thoughts about my book was that it was a bit confusing because its one of those books that goes chapters by who's point of view it is, and right from the start there was a lot going on. The further I got into my book, the more interesting it got and made me want to keep reading.

  3. I chose the book "the grand escape" I chose it because I like war books and this one was about WW1. I had Mrs. winters help me find it. there wasn't really a specific reason I chose this book I just trusted Mrs. winters advice. my initial thoughts on the book are that it jumps around a lot through many different locations and people making it confusing. it starts off in action and is explaining a flying program for soldiers where they practice flights with relatively new planes that haven't been tested a lot and this causes lots of crashes and deaths. I'm not hooked quite yet but it's starting to get good.

  5. I chose the book Attacked at Sea by Michael J. Tougias and Alison O’Leary. I picked this book because I’m interested in real-life survival stories, especially ones that take place in extreme situations like the open ocean. Being attacked at sea feels intense and unpredictable, which made the book stand out to me. This one stood out because it’s based on real events. The book starts by quickly setting up danger and tension, which pulled me in right away. I was hooked early on and want to keep reading to see how the people survive and what happens next.

My grandma recommended this book to me and I decided to read it because I like to learn about the Vietnam war, I think it's the most interesting war to learn about. The book starts with the main character Frankie's brother Finley went to Vietnam. Frankie wanted to follow her brother and make her military family proud so she volunteered through the Army to be a nurse in Vietnam. After she was committed to going, she found out that her brother had died. She still went over to Vietnam and is experiencing the intensity of everything in the surgical unit. Her three good friends there were Ethel, Barb, and Jamie. Ethel got to go back home, barb is going home soon, and Jamie was shot down from a helicopter, so now she just has barb for a little longer. Frankie and Barb were transferred to a different hospital where the conditions are a lot worse because it right by all of the fighting. I am hooked on this book and I'm excited to see what happens.

I chose this book because I've always been interested in World War 2 because its drastically different then all other wars making it stand out. The process i went through to find this book is looking for history based books, then this book stood out because of the broad nature that it covers most if not all aspects of world War 2, and I specifically chose this book to gain knowledge about all aspects of WW2. Not just the two main theaters of European and and Pacific fronts but also looking into the African campaign. It starts off with the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor and describes all the lost ships and how everyone was caught in shock by this because they never thought that the Japanese would be able to strike on American soil. I would say I'm hooked just based of the fact that I'm always interested in learning for about world conflicts.

I asked her what books she had that I haven't read that are good, she handed me this one and I chose it. My initial thoughts are good, it has a good start. The two main characters are Jack and Libby. Libby is a fat girl who got famous for getting stuck in her house and being the biggest teen girl in America. Her mom died and people bullied her so she leaned into food. Over the past 2.5 years she has lost a lot of weight and is returning to school. She is very in her head all the time. Jack has prosopagnosia which means he can't recognize faces/people, not even his family. He’s quite popular but he struggles with not being able to remember anyone and he doesn’t want to be a freak so he tries his hardest to hide it. I am now hooked because Jack and Libby are more connected then I thought and they have became closer.

  34. I am reading The Phone Booth at the Edge of the World by Laura Imai Messina. I chose this book because it has been on my shelf for a long time and I thought this would be a good opportunity to finally read it. The main idea is grief and overcoming the struggles with it. The story starts with woman, Yui, talking about losing her mother and daughter in the 2011 tsunami, and a guy, Takeshi, losing his wife to cancer and his daughter going mute as a result. The book does not have me hooked. I think the idea of the book is more interesting than the actual story so far, and the structure is different from what I normally read, so this book is kind of a challenge for me.

  35. For my new book, I chose Confess by Colleen Hoover. I picked it because I’ve heard she writes really emotional stories, and this one sounded different with the whole confession theme. I wanted a book that focused on relationships and secrets, and this seemed like a good fit.
I found the book by looking through her most popular books and talking to other people that also like her books. What really made me choose it was how the story is inspired by real anonymous confessions it made it feel more real and interesting. So far, my first thoughts are good. The book starts by introducing Auburn, who is clearly dealing with a lot from her past. Right away, it pulls you in and makes you want to know more about her story. I was hooked pretty early.

  36. I choose the book Verity by Colleen Hoover, I choose this book because I've heard nothing but good reviews from others who have also read this book. I bought it about 2 years ago and I thought this would be the perfect timing to read it. So far the book has been very interesting and it started with a very strong start. The first page is an accident, that follows in death and blood splatter onto the main character, which really hooked me instantly.

  38. the book i picked is women down by colleen hoover i choose it because i like colleen hoover books i find them interesting and they keep me hooked the whole time! i didn't have a process of picking this book i have all the books by her and this is her brand new one and i knew i needed to buy it before they went out of stock. the book so far is about how this author was making a movie about one of her books and the movie wasntt what the readers wanted/expected so they had a lot of backlash and there were texts that got sent out from the author to another actor and the people seen her as a bad person. she didnt want to keep writing or stay on social media because they kept leaving hateful comments and she decided to go to a cabin to get away from others and they start to slowly go back to social media. i would say im hooked and want to keep reading!

  39. I picked the book "Ugly Love" by Colleen hoover. I chose this book because everyone always talks about how good the author is and that they can never put the book down when reading a Colleen Hoover book. The process was asking mom about her books and then I seen this one of the table and knew it was the one I should read. the beginning of the books starts with a nursing student moving in with the brother and having an awkward interaction with the brother's best friend. Haven't really had the chance to sit down and really start reading the book so I'm not very "hooked'' just yet.

  40. I chose the book Magnus Chase 9 from the Nine Worlds by Rick Riordan. This book is one I have been wanting to read because I had already read the whole Magnus Chase series and this is just an extra from that. It has the same characters and settings behind it so it is fairly easy to understand all that if you read the other books. I personally love the high paced action and thrills in this and the mythology behind everything. I would say I am very hooked too because right from the start it had action with magic runestones flying and casting spells and magic swords swinging and doing mass destruction.

  43. For my new book, I chose Twisted Hate by Ana Huang. I decided to read this book because I’ve already read the past books in the Twisted series and really enjoyed them. I liked the drama, romance, and strong character relationships in the earlier books, so I wanted to continue the series. Since Jules and Josh were already introduced before, I was especially interested in seeing their story play out.
The book starts by showing how much Jules and Josh dislike each other. Jules is best friends with Josh’s sister, Ava, which makes their tension even more awkward. Right away, there’s sarcasm, arguing, and obvious chemistry between them. Even though they act like they hate each other, it feels like there’s something deeper going on.
